It's well-known that misogyny runs rampant in the entertainment industry, shaping the careers and, sometimes even the success, of many women who try to make a living out of their passion for music.
"Black women are often seen two ways: as the 'mothering' type or the sexual object," said Zahyia Rolle, appearing on Fat, Black and Femme with Avis Reese to discuss their experiences in the music industry.
