After five years of building media reparations, Media 2070 is transitioning into a new era. The organization announced it would pivot into an independent initiative sponsored by Allied Media Projects (AMP). This is a turning point that would allow Media 2070 to further advocate and fight for Black communities to tell their stories freely, shaping their future.
On Friday evening, Senior Director Anshantia Oso and Director of Reparative Narrative and Creative Strategy Diamond Hardiman joined radio host Adrianne Shropshire to discuss Black Narrative Power Month, their toolkit for journalists and media creatives and what's next for the institution.

Redefining Black Narrative Power
Executive Director Anshantia Oso notes that Independence is a core value for the team. They are hoping this new change will help them intentionally move the media towards a future that the Black population deserves. Part of this change includes the "Riot to Repair" community archive that documents experiences from the 2020 protests, ensuring that journalism focuses on the well-being of the community.
