Media 2070 Announces August Consortium Call

Key Updates on the Media Reparations Movement, Black Future Newsstand & Other Major Projects

ree

Media 2070 invites journalists, media-makers, industry leaders and community members to join its upcoming Consortium Call on Wed., Aug. 28, at 6 p.m. ET.

This quarter’s convening will bring together members of our growing network and those across the industry for an evening of learning, sharing and reparative vision-building for the future of media. We’ll discuss our team’s research on the FCC’s racist history and ongoing practices, highlight the next stop of the Black Future Newsstand exhibit and present a roundtable discussion featuring innovators in reparative narrative and media making.

“This consortium is where our movement comes together,” said Media 2070 Senior Director Anshantia “Tia” Oso. “We’re building connective tissue across newsrooms, artists, communities and academia — and ensuring that the call for reparative journalism is impossible to ignore. We know that working together allows us to go further and it’s an important opportunity for us to provide key updates across so many different projects and efforts.”

The Media 2070 Consortium Call is open to all who believe in repairing a media system and creating systems that truly serve and inform the public. Whether you’re a journalist, policy advocate or community member, this quarterly convening offers the tools and insights needed to move our collective work forward.
