Ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 13WHAM has directed local attention to a Rochester-based project, the Breast Cancer Confidence Project, and the imminent book release party celebrating the launch of You are Whole. The photography book empowers women struggling with and healing through breast cancer, helping them fight against the insecurities that the disease can cause through boudoir photoshoots and personal stories.
According to 13WHAM, the project has a distinct focus not only on the outcomes of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment but on the equally personal journeys the diverse subjects went through.
The coverage has made it possible to raise awareness about the event moving forward, stressing the local aspect and encouraging readers to take part in its goal to empower women affected by breast cancer.
The launch event is set for Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. at RIT’s Tate Preserve. It will include a cover unveiling, a keynote, and a roundtable discussion; organizers encourage business casual with a splash of pink. Admission is free with tickets available online by clicking here.
