Media reparations is a centuries-long fight. Could it finally happen?
Black journalists are leaving newsrooms in droves. Underpaid and under nurtured, many are being pushed out. But imagine a world where reporters are properly paid and given the support they need to tell groundbreaking stories about our communities.
That's the goal for Media2070, which has a 50-year plan for reparations in media.
The team will host a community update and press briefing Nov 16 @ 3:30 PM EST., creating a safe space to discuss media reparations, share professional experiences and chat about what’s next collectively. The Media2070 team will present about their landmark essay exploring the future of media reparations and show a short clip of the award-winning documentary “Black in the Newsroom,” which follows Elizabeth Montgomery as she forges her way through the industry.
