Media 2070 is launching “i SAW THiNGS i iMAGiNED,” the second installment of its nationally touring Reparative Journalism Archive. The exhibit debuts at Media 2070’s virtual town hall on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 4 PM ET, an event that also celebrates six years of the project’s work toward media reparations.

“i SAW THINGS I IMAGINED" is a powerful reimagining of the future of media. It gathers the insight of industry leaders, news practitioners and everyday readers to envision a media system that reflects what communities truly want. Visitors are invited to add their own voices by imagining and submitting the headlines they want to see in a more just media future.

The Reparative Journalism Archive is a living repository of reparative journalism in practice. It chronicles and examines the intersections between media history, Black citizenship and identity, movement building and Afrofuturist visioning. The archive’s first installment, “Riot to Repair: Community Archives on Media and Narrative Power,” was created with Dr. Allissa Richardson and journalists at the USC Charlotta Bass Journalism and Justice Lab. It features more than 70 Los Angeles community members sharing their lived experience of the death of George Floyd and the 2020 uprisings.

The exhibit is curated by Diamond Hardiman, Narrative and Creative Strategy Director at Media 2070, who also served as lead curator of “Riot to Repair.”

“This roundtable will bring together artists, journalists, futurists and archivists to discuss the role of storytelling in bringing about collective repair. We’ll be focused on the guiding question: ‘How can the act of storytelling help bring forth repair in the present?’” said Hardiman.

“You’re not the only one who wants a better media system,” the Media 2070 team says in its invitation to the public. “Let’s build it together.”

About Media 2070

The Media 2070 project, launched in 2020, calls on media companies, the government, philanthropy and the broader public to reckon with and repair the historical and ongoing harm our nation’s media system has caused Black people. Media 2070 advocates for media reparations to achieve a future where Black people have the capital and power necessary to own and control our own stories, from ideation to production, through to distribution. Its goals are to transform the national conversation on race and media, grow the cultural conditions needed to support reparative interventions, and advance public interest policies that would redress that harm.
