The Award-Winning Master Certified Coach Stands Out for her Unique Approach
By: MMM Editorial Team
Washington, D.C. — As workplace leaders contend with a lingering pandemic and ever-evolving workplace, successful teams and effective leaders are more critical than ever. Sophia Casey, Master Certified Coach (MCC) and Chief Empowerment Officer (CEO) of the International Coaching and Leadership Institute Rising (ICLI RISING) is at the forefront of transforming corporate and public sector environments, having worked with dozens of major corporations, brands, federal departments and organizations focusing on human-led interaction, impactful listening (empathy, curiosity) and strategic coaching competencies. Casey particularly stands out because of both her thorough knowledge and inspiring and engaging presenting style.
A recent training was attended by more than 60 employees of the United States Federal Government, which included the Department of Defense. Casey said the major workshop championed authentic connection and leading through humanity– a key trait necessary for impactful leadership.
“We focused on empathy and truly hearing the people you’re serving, self-reflection on how we play a role in our client’s success, or failure, and true connection,” said Casey. “We focused on how to lead in a way that centers who you’re serving because often, as consultants or as leaders and managers, we are brought in to solve problems but if you’re not careful you do so without ever truly hearing the other person. This workshop was about listening, learning and ensuring that who you’re working with feels listened to as well.”
Internationally recognized, Casey has worked with two presidential administrations as Director of First Impressions and was the 2023 recipient of the Best Coach of the Americas award. She said this training may seem abstract, but for those who are coaching and leading vulnerable communities, this can help them find a deeper connection and achieve better results.
“I’ve worked with the Department of Housing, several state governments as well as major programs for youth, women and so many more,” explained Casey. “I think often we try to force people to 'achieve' but it's really about empowering individuals to embrace their inherent greatness. This ideology is part of the Coaching Mindset: to lead with empathy and reflection.”
