Rochester's 540WMain Launches a College-Level Course on Anti-racism Practice

Updated: Feb 2, 2023

540WMain will launch a 15-week college-level course on practicing anti-racism on February 21st, 2023.

540WMain is known for their powerful and illuminating courses, raising awareness about everything from the women in Frederick Douglass's life to Harriet Tubman's disability.

Their latest course, "Introduction to Anti-Racism Practice," aims to empower people and their workplaces through education and awareness. Those who enroll in the course will invest in themselves, their employees, and the communities they serve.

"With the surge of institutional demand for DEAI Education and societal debate around Critical Race Theory, it is important that we continue to think critically about our individual and collective roles in perpetuating and dismantling racism," says Calvin Eaton, founder & CEO of 540WMain. Through engaging with Black-authored texts on anti-racism, critical dialogues, popular cultural examples, and other media, this course will inform and encourage participants in their own practicing and advocacy of anti-racism."

The course will meet every Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. via Zoom.
